Note: A BMI greater than 25 may or may not be due to increases in body fat. For example, professional athletes may be lean and muscular, with little body fat, yet they may weigh more than individuals with the same height because of their muscle mass regardless of BMI.

If your actual body weight falls within 10% (above or below) the weight calculated, you are within a healthy weight range.

Note, however, that t his is only an estimate and is meant to give you a general idea of what you should aim for. Also, this guideline does not account for increased muscle mass, pregnancy, or illness.

Try comparing this number with your BMI to see where you fall. If you are above your recommended healthy weight and BMI, you may want to consider changing your lifestyle to incorporate healthier eating habits (as outlined in The Menopause Diet, or The Goddess Diet) and increased physical activity.  Remember, always consult your physician first.
